Phyllis Jensen Chipman passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009 from natural causes associated with aging. She was born in Springville January 14, 1921 to Franklin M. and Ovanda Miner Jensen, grew up in Mapleton, and raised her family in Bountiful, Utah. She married Dean Whitaker Chipman after serving in the Great Lakes Mission and graduating in accounting from BYU. Together, they raised 9 surviving of their 10 children and worked in his tax and estate planning business. She loved her family, gardening, family vacations, teaching children and adults in her church and continuous learning.

She is survived by a sister, Jane Jensen Laird, children: John Karen Russon, Ann Virgil Howell, Ralph Colleen Sorensen, Jane Neil Getzelman, Ruth Brad Davis, Helen, Nancy, Carol Clark Williams, and Stephen Michelle Roueche, 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband, two brothers, Paul and Duane Jensen, and a son, Paul, predecease her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Bountiful 24th Ward Chapel, 720 East 550 North, where family visits and a viewing will be held Saturday from 9:15 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery. If desired, donations can be made to the Perpetual Education Fund and the Humanitarian Fund.
