Phyllis met Joseph Knowles Everton in 1938 as a result of being randomly matched for a Utah State Women Students Association dance, which was the beginning of an eternal love for each other. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on July 3, 1944. Phyllis served in many capacities in the LDS church, and particularly enjoyed teaching Relief Society lessons and working with the youth in Primary. She had a passion for the research and the documentation of her family?s genealogy and history. Phyllis? greatest love was her husband, and her family. The family wishes to thank the staff, and especially the aides, at The Inn on Barton Creek who cared for Mom with so much love and kindness. Also, many thanks to Applegate Hospice for their expert care of mother, and the support they gave our family, especially Dad in his sweetheart?s final days. The family is also grateful to the residents of Barton Creek who have been such loving friends to Joe and Phyllis and have given great support to the family. Truly, you are the “greatest generation!” In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LDS Church Education Fund or the LDS Humanitarian Fund.
