Rada Elmer Morton, age 89, of Ogden, UT, peacefully accepted her calling to return home with our Heavenly Father and her adoring husband of 63 years on March 2, 2024. She was born April 2, 1934, alongside her twin sister, Reva in Park City, UT. Rada had a deep belief in the Latter-Day Saints and was faithful and dedicated her entire life.
Rada was a devoted wife to Boyce Morton and mother to daughter, Diane and son, Mike. She is survived by her twin sister Reva and eldest brother George. She has 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother Ann Marie Kershaw Case, father Theodore Elmer, stepfather Lloyd Case and siblings Ted, Delos Ira and Willis Deardon.
Rada was smart and a good study. She graduated from Summit County High School and went on to have a career in Sheet Metal working in a factory assembly in support of our Troops and War Efforts. In the summer of 1960, Rada went on a blind date with Boyce Morton, the meant-to-be love of her life. She married him Sept 14, 1960, and was a supportive Military Wife and nurturing mother of two during Boyce’s tours of duty that took them all over Europe. Later in her 40s, she returned to work at Hill AFB again doing what she loved, Sheet Metal, on the wings of F-4 and F-16 Fighter Jets.
Rada found joy in being surrounded by family and cherished moments of conversation, laughter, and food, she was wildly talented and passionate with her crocheting and knitting everything from Quilts to an extensive array of exquisite Dollies, each pattern unique pieces of art. She was adventurous and fearless when it came to trying new things, long-distance motorcycle road trips, coast-to-coast RV travel, golf, boating, fishing, and daily walks.
Her Love Story is one for the test of time.
In remembrance of Rada, a small graveside service will be held at 2:30pm, on Friday March 22, 2024, at the Porterville Pioneer Memorial Cemetery. Russon Mortuary in Syracuse, UT, is assisting with the funeral arrangements.
Rada will be deeply missed by all that knew her. May she rest in peace. I love you through the depths of time, Mama.
