Ralph G. Taylor
1940-2015
Salt Lake City, Utah – Ralph G. Taylor, 74, passed away February 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Ralph was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho to loving parents: Don L. and Verna (Oswald) Taylor. He spent most of his childhood in the small town of Cody, Wyoming where he grew up playing many sports including: ice hockey, baseball, football, and basketball. He loved fishing with his father. Ralph earned the rank of Eagle Scout before graduating from Cody High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sacramento State College. He served honorably as a missionary in the Washington, DC Mission, sharing his testimony of Christ and the message of eternal families to all who would listen. Ralph lived a purposeful life of service and influenced many through his career and through his activity and numerous callings in the LDS church.
In 1965, he married the love of his life, Georgina Stringam. Ralph often described their love as a storybook romance saying, “she was the best thing that ever happened to him”. Together, they moved to Marin County, CA. where he worked for the Pacific Bell Phone Company in San Francisco. It was there that they began their family and raised six children. He loved to spend time with his family and close friends, enjoying backpacking, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. In his later years, he enjoyed writing poetry, doing genealogy work, and reading.
Ralph was devoted to his faith and loved to philosophize about life. He is survived by his wife, Georgina, and six children: daughter, Lynne Rada (Mark); son, Mark (Rebecca Burton); daughter, Kathryn Tagge (John); son, Russell (Emily Klindt); daughter, Christine Mitchell (Reid); son, David (Mindy Evans). He has 24 grandchildren. He is loved by his family, siblings, and friends, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Imperial 2nd Ward LDS Church: 2738 South Fillmore Street, Salt Lake City. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park
