Ralph Whitaker Shutt passed away September 26, 2015 at the age of 91.
He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on May 11, 1924 to Albert and Doris Shutt. He graduated from West High School.
Ralph served honorably in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific, at Pearl Harbor, on Midway Island and aboard the USS Yorktown.
Ralph worked for 33 years at Chicago Bridge & Iron and retired as a Foreman. He loved to travel with family and friends, and did so even as a young child with his parents. He loved camping, fishing, four wheeling and working with wood. He made beautiful things he has shared with many of us and we cherish them.
He married Maxine Stromberg in 1946, later divorced. Ralph is survived by sons Ronnie (Trudi), Mike (Lori), Brent (Silke), Steven (Esther), Rick (Becky), his sister Barbara, and a brother David. Also numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, brother George, and sister Heather.
Ralph was truly loved and will be greatly missed by so many.
A viewing will be held Thursday October 1, 2015 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, Salt Lake City, UT from 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held Friday October 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Salt Lake Rose Park LDS Stake Center located at 760 North 1200 West (East Chapel), SLC Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 AM. Interment follows at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
