Ramona Jeannette Heistra Peck, born February 4, 1943 to John and Jeannette Heistra, passed on to her next journey on November 14, 2012 after a valiant and positive fight with ovarian cancer. She married Willard D. Peck on March 1, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was the proud mother of five children: Gordon (Tina) Peck, Charlene (Kent) Barton, Gary Peck, Kim (Dave) Lundquist and Tricia (Spencer) Reynolds. She has 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild with another on the way. She considered her dogs as her children also, Jasper and Tucker.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and her dog Val Jean. She is survived by her husband and children and their families.
Ramona had a passion for Disneyland and made sure that we all enjoyed our time there. She loved doing crafts and spent many evenings doing crafts with her daughters. She was a cheerleader extraordinaire when it came to her children’s activities. She was the loudest mother at wrestling matches, cheer, dance and ice skating competitions and football games. Her cheering continued as she supported her grandchildren in their various activities or at the end of her husband’s marathons and races. She was a season ticket holder of the Utah Jazz and made close friends with those whom she sat with. She enjoyed working in the Bountiful Temple for over 9 years until her health would no longer allow. She served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints. One of her favorite callings was that of Primary President. She made sure that each of the children knew the Articles of Faith prior to graduating. She spent extra time with those who needed extra help. She loved spending time at the family cabin and sharing it with friends and family. Many fun memories were created as we built the cabin as a family and as we spent time together there.
Special thanks to Dr. Regina Drueding and Dr. Regina Klein and her staff.
