RaNae June Wheeler Passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024 with her son Michael and her daughter Jodi by her side. She was born in Brigham City, Utah on June 12, 1948 to parents Lowell and Orlean Walters. She was one of 12 siblings.
RaNae graduated from Box Elder High School. She married Reo Waddoups and together they had 5 children. They later divorced.
RaNae was lovingly referred to as "Grandma Nae Nae". She loved spending time with all of her family, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved family BBQs and playing any and all kinds of games. She usually won too. Even as recently as 3 days before her passing, she won a game of UNO. She loved watching her grandsons play basketball,football and wrestling, and watching her granddaughters dance and do other activities. She was so proud of all of them. We have a lot of special memories and will hold them close to our hearts. She will truly be missed by so many, and we are all grateful to have had her in our lives.
RaNae was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed going to church and especially loved being with the kids as a primary teacher.
RaNae is survived by her 5 children: Michael, Tim(Angie), Chad (Lisa), Michelle, and Jodi. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren: Zach(Belle), Jake(Micayla), Lexie (Jesse), Brooke (Kyler), Jordan, Braxton, Cody, Matt, Hunter, Makenna, Ashley(Josh), Sarah, Josh, and Julia. RaNae had 6 great- grandchildren: Sage, Nash, Maverick, Brooks, Ridge and Oaklee, and one more on the way. She also has 4 surviving siblings: Lamar, Carol, Colleen, and Jan. RaNae has many nieces and nephews that she stayed in contact with also.
RaNae was preceded in death by her parents Lowell and Orlean Walters and 7 siblings: MaryLou, Linda, Connie, Merlin, Kenny, Allen and Wally.
The family would like to extend a thank you to all of the doctors and nurses that cared for RaNae at the University of Utah Cardiac Care Unit. We are so grateful for you.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 1585 West 300 South, Syracuse, Utah 84075. Friends and family are invited to a viewing prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment at the Washington Heights Cemetery.
