Randall Curtis McMurdie

November 11, 1962 — June 8, 2022

Randall Curtis McMurdie, age 59, was born November 11, 1962, in Logan, Utah and passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 8, 2022, after a short illness.  Randy was the son of William Evan McMurdie, Jr. and Maxine Curtis.  He grew up in Logan, graduated from Logan High School, and from 1981 to 1983 served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New York, New York Mission.

Upon returning from his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ, Randy studied at and graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography and Master of Science degree in instructional design.  Randy married Leisa Thornley on February 9, 1990, in the Logan LDS temple.  Together they had two children: Anna McMurdie (Salt Lake) and Samuel Gavan McMurdie (North Salt Lake who is currently serving in the San Jose, California Mission).

Randy lived a life of service – to his family, his faith, and the Boy Scouts of America.  Throughout his life he faithfully served in multiple church callings as well as multiple positions with the Boy Scouts of America.  Randy was employed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Information and Communications Systems Department.  Randy was loved and respected by all who knew and worked with him.  A viewing for Randy will be held at Russon Mortuary located at 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held the following day on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. and will be preceded by a short viewing from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Orchard 4th Ward meeting house on 55 East 350 North, North Salt Lake, Utah.  Following the services Randy will be interred at the Logan City Cemetery.
