Randall Townsend

February 11, 1953 — August 26, 2011

Randall Lynn Townsend was born February 11, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George A. Townsend and Faye Erickson whom have both preceded him in death. Randy has two brothers, Gary A Townsend (Bountiful) and Steve George Townsend (deceased). Randy has two nieces and one nephew, Marci Jefferies (Rhett), Camie Summerhays (Shane) and Sean Townsend (Janece); 7 great nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law, Carol Townsend and nearest to a sister, Sherrie Ellingson. They all loved Randy very much and enjoyed going fishing on his boat at our family campouts. Randy had contracted a rare infection that took him rather quickly. Randy was employed by the Davis School District as a school bus driver, a job that Randy enjoyed very much. He was also a bus driver for Trailways and UTA. Randy had always said that bus driving was in his blood, because our dad had driven tour buses in Yellowstone Park. Randy was also employed at Burt Brothers. One of Randys passions was fishing at Flaming Gorge where he and his friends had entered many tournaments and also at East Canyon Resort. Another passion that Randy had was reading. He owns many books about history, and especially the Civil War. Because of his reading, Randy was very smart and could tell you of all the events that happened in history. Randy also liked to read anything written by Stephen King. Randy like to be around people and people liked being around him. Randy could make you feel good about yourself. Randy was very fond of his friends especially Ray, T-bird, Woody, Mike, and Charlie (deceased). Even though they were divorced, Randy had a love for Frankie that he will take with him on his journey. It was Randys wish that he be cremated and have his ashes scattered at the Gorge. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Bountiful 28th Ward, 2285 South 200 West, under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. Randy has always said he wants people to celebrate his life rather than mourn his death.
