Ranée Wilde Howe passed away peacefully on September 17, 2017, surrounded by family. She was born on December 24, 1927 in Oakley, Utah to W. Everett and Marie Wilde. Ranée married Noel D. Howe on April 16, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had six children: Darris (Gail), Amy Struthers (Kevin), Brent (Sandy), Bryan (Karla), Curtis (Marlis), and Allyson. Ranée loved her 6 children, 21 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.
Ranée’s family was her most prized possession. She lovingly cared for all her children, and when her youngest daughter was born with Down’s Syndrome, Ranée and her husband Noel brought her home and cared for her for over forty years. She also remembered and sent a present to each of her 68 descendants on their birthdays.
Ranée was always busy. She was an avid reader. She journaled nearly every day of her adult life. She served as President of her local chapters in Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Ranée pedaled her stationary bicycle daily and could fit into her wedding dress well into her 50s.
Ranée was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints. As a young woman, Ranée served in the Northern States Mission. Later she served as a Relief Society president and as a temple worker in the Vernal Utah Temple. She read the Book of Mormon over 500 times.
Ranée is preceded in death by her husband, daughter (Allyson), and siblings (Delores Sandberg and Dennis Wilde). She is survived by many who will miss her cheerful smile and individual attention.
