Ray Hatch Perkins

August 11, 1937 — February 15, 2015

Ray Hatch Perkins, passed away quietly and peacefully the afternoon of February 15, 2015 after a long heroic battle with a variety of illnesses. He was born August 11, 1937 in Randolph, Utah, to Clarence Perkins and Edith Elaine Hatch. He graduated from Davis High School and later LDS Business College.  He married Verna Mae Bulkley early in 1957 in Clearfield, Utah.  They raised their four children in Woods Cross and Bountiful, Utah.  Ray worked for a number of companies in the region and retired from Zions Bank after 26 years as the purchasing manager.  For those who knew Ray, he was known for repairing anything broken from automobiles to sprinkler systems to closet walls to unfamiliar equipment.  No project was too big or not fixable to him.  For that he was self-made.  It was common for him to put others before himself, sometimes at a great sacrifice to him.  He always wanted the best for his family.  He was born in an era of necessity and was proud to be independent, he lived his entire life proudly, and he passed away as proudly as he lived.  Our time with him is filled with lifelong memories.  He will be greatly missed by all those he leaves behind and joyfully and cheerfully welcomed by Verna, Richard, his mom and dad, and the others who have patiently waited for his return.

Ray is survived by D H (Lisa), Cathy Smith (Kevin), Ryan and by his many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his lifelong sweetheart and beloved wife Verna and his third child Richard.
