Raymond M. Beard

Raymond M. Beard was born on December 9th, 1953, in Salt Lake City to Clifford and Grace Beard. In 1972 Ray married Cindy Taylor and had two children, Amy and Matt. After six years together they were divorced. On September 25th, 1981, Ray married the love of his life, Terrie Rigby. They started their family in North Salt Lake where they had three children together, Bryan, Travis and Ashley. He lost his oldest son Matt in a bicycle accident in 1993. Ray loved driving semi-trucks and retired from Associated Foods in 2016 after over 30 years and more than 2 million miles. He always took pride in his job and always had the best-looking truck in the yard. Ray loved the time he spent working with his best friend Phil, driving tow trucks and picking up everything from basic tows to airplanes. Ray was happiest spending time with family and friends on camping trips, hunting and fishing. You could always count on Ray if you needed to be rescued in some remote town when your car broke down or just a good conversation over a cup of coffee. 

On February 19th, 2025, Ray passed away at home after a long battle of several health issues. Ray is survived by his wife Terrie, children Amy (Kyle) Peterson, Bryan (Kristin) Beard, Travis Beard, Ashley Beard, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. He is proceeded in death by his parents Clifford and Grace Beard and son Matt Beard. Ray will be greatly missed and his absence felt by so many. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main Street, Bountiful Utah, where a viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. prior to services. Graveside service to follow.
