Raymond R. Jaggi

October 10, 1948 — April 6, 2025

Centerville, UT

Raymond R. Jaggi passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, following a major stroke just a few days after his last run. He left behind a legacy of love, faith, service, and adventure. Born on October 10, 1948, to Stanley and Dorothy Jaggi, Ray was the second of seven children and spent his life building deep and meaningful relationships with those around him.

He is survived by his siblings: his older brother Robert (Judy), Glen, Sherri (Bob Hauser), Chris (Roger Crown), John, and Don. Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married the love of his life, Linda Mines, on February 3, 1970, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they built a beautiful family and a life full of laughter, faith, and unforgettable memories.

Ray and Linda were blessed with four children: Chelsea Argyle (Rex), Emily Jaggi-Kight (Matt), Rachel Amidon (Kurt), and Lon Jaggi (Kara). His posterity continued to grow with his cherished grandchildren: Alexis (Brian), Jordan (Keondre), Zachary Raymond (McKayla), Josh (Kelly), Caleb, Tylar, Lacey, Carter, Ryann, Braden Raymond, Beckett, Sam, Elise, Evelyn, Isabelle, and Miriam. Ray also delighted in his great-grandchildren: Elsie, Amelia, Ezra, and little Andrew, who, in a sweet blessing of timing, is getting to know Grandpa before arriving earthside.

Ray served in the United States Marine Corps 1969-1970. He graduated from the University of Utah in Finance in 1975. He worked for the USPS for 38 years. He ran the St. George Marathon twice and completed many half-marathons.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ray served faithfully in many ward and stake callings. One of his greatest joys was sharing his testimony of the Savior. He and Linda served three senior missions together in Toronto, Canada; Iloilo, Philippines; and Washington DC North.

Ray has been actively involved in Family Search the last couple years. He and Linda have been able to take family names to the temple to do proxy ordinances almost every week.

He was active and adventurous, with a love for softball, golf, fly fishing, backpacking, running, and travel. He especially loved camping and hiking with his family—one of his proudest memories was hiking Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park with all of his children and again with Linda and six of his grandchildren. He could often be found cheering exuberantly at his grandkids’ sporting events.

His laugh was infectious, especially when the kids were getting into trouble with their mom—a moment he always found a little more amusing than he probably should have. Ray had a big heart and a generous spirit. He was always quick to serve and never hesitated to lend a hand, whether to a family member, friend, or stranger.

Ray leaves behind a powerful legacy of faith, love, and joy. He will be remembered for his unwavering testimony, his deep devotion to his family, his adventurous spirit, and the way he made others feel seen, loved, and valued.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
