Raymond Neishan Enjaian

May 31, 1926 – September 11, 2015

Friday evening we lost a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend

Raymond was born May 31, 1926 in San Francisco, CA to Arev and Artemis Enjaian, both emigrants from Armenia.

Ray attended Commerce High School where is he was the Student Body President and excelled in sports. Following high school graduation he enlisted in the Navy and served from July 1944 to August 1946.

He attended San Francisco State where he played colligate baseball and went on to play minor league ball for several minor league teams.

He graduated with a degree in Physical Education and Coaching.  Ray also worked as the Athletic Director for the City of Concord, CA and Recreational Tennis Director in Orinda California.

It was July 1952 when Raymond met “a beautiful blonde,” Donna Carlson. Raymond and Donna were married July 25, 1953 in San Francisco, later sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland LDS temple in May 1983. Ray and Donna are the parents of three daughters and one angel son Raymond Donn.

Raymond worked as an elementary school teacher, high school counselor, and retired as a school administrator. Raymond had the ability to touch and influence the lives of young people in a powerful way. He was very beloved amongst students and colleagues alike.

Raymond was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served faithfully all of his life.  His gift was teaching.  Raymond loved people and especially youth and changed lives of many with his service.  Raymond and Donna served an LDS Mission in the Salt Lake City Family History Library in 1999.

If you knew Ray, you knew how to laugh.  Ray brought wit, charm and humor to everything he did.  He could roam a crowded room of strangers and leave with all new friends.  His ability to communicate and relate to people of all walks of life was a gift and a passion.  No one will ever think of Ray without a smile on their face.

Ray is survived by his wife Donna Carlson Enjaian.  Daughters, Laurie Reef (Jim), Lisa Osborne (Stephen), Denise Adams (Stuart), brother Rudy Enjaian (Maralyn), grandchildren, Michael Reef (Ashley), Brett Adams (Carlie), Amanda Wright (Mike), Brody Osborne (Paris), Olivia Osborne, Rylie Adams, Sydney Adams, Cassidy Adams, great-grandchildren Kayley Reef, Emma Reef, Micah Reef, Jace Wright, and Ryder Osborne.
