Rebecca Richards Hunt, our beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished wife passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2021 after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Becky was born on May 16, 1950 to Rulon and Golda Richards in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in Farmington, Utah and was a proud graduate of Davis High School. She met and married Hyde Barry Hunt in 1971, and together they had six children.
Becky had a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities throughout her life. She was an educator for 26 years, earning awards on both a local and national level. Becky had a love of learning and a desire to improve on her talents and enjoyed using those skills to help those around her. Whether it be keeping up on the latest and best educational practices, making stained glass windows, or sewing and crocheting blankets and small toys for her grandchildren, to name a few. She took an active interest in her children’s and grandchildren’s daily lives and always made them feel important to her with every visit. She will be remembered for her quick wit, thoughtfulness, and the dedication and love she showed to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on forever in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Becky is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Hyde Barry, her six children: Cloe (James) Hewett, Clayton, Russell (Jaymie), Patrick (Michelle), Heidi (Scott) Olson, Anne (Jared) Lyman and 23 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents, her sister, Mary Louise, and her niece, Stephanie Richards.
