Rebecca York Weil, age 57, of Bountiful, Utah, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 15, 2017 at her home of unknown causes.
She was born in Island County, Washington, Sept. 12, 1960 to Max and LaPriel Palmer York. She married Mark Christensen on in the Salt Lake Temple. Their daughter Bethany was born on March 14, 1982.
Rebecca and Mark were later divorced. She spent 10 happy years with Lareen Strong before marrying Neil Weil in Bountiful. He died in 2012.
She graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in communications with a minor in womens studies in 1992. She was a social worker for the state of Utah for five years. Her greatest love was delivering pizza for Pizza Hut and Dominoes. She was a millennial before the millennials. She didn’t like following rules so delivering pizza allowed her to make her own schedule and work nights, which she enjoyed. She continued to love Dominoes Pizza, having it delivered almost every night for the rest of her life.
She was very musically gifted and enjoyed singing in the Utah Symphony choir. She was proficient on the guitar, piano and violin. She also loved spending time with her grandson Sebastian almost every day. She tried to teach him to play the ukulele and loved watching him play.
She is survived by her daughter Bethany (Philip Jensen) Christensen and their son Sebastian; siblings Allen, William and Diane Barnett.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 29th at Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family may call during a viewing prior to the graveside from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.
