Reed LeRoy Roberts

February 8, 1929 — May 30, 2015

Reed LeRoy Roberts, beloved husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa passed away peacefully on May 30, 2015 in Bountiful, Utah of natural causes after a lifetime of extraordinary giving to those around him.  He was born in Thatcher, Idaho to LeRoy and Gladys Roberts on February 8, 1929.  He attended Preston High, Utah State Agricultural College and the University of Utah taking courses in business and computer science. He served an LDS Mission in the Netherlands where he met his beloved wife Roziena Frederika Hemmes and they were married on December 4, 1951 in the Logan Temple. He served in the artillery unit of the Army from 1952-1954 in Germany during the Korean War.  He had a long and successful computer career with Utah Power & Light retiring in 1985.  After 70 years of avid gardening here on earth, he is now tending to the beautiful gardens in heaven.   He loved the outdoors and spent many years taking his family on numerous camping trips and vacations all over the country.  He was always a great example of love, hard work and dedication.

Reed is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Roziena,  and his five children: LaRea Herron, Lucinda Lee (Kim), Shirlene Campbell (Marty), Brent Roberts (Carolyn) and Shawna Spencer (John).  His brothers and sisters; Ray and Jean Roberts, Grant Roberts, John Goldstein, and Maxine Bruntzel. He will surely be missed by his 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Bountiful 11th Ward, 115 East Wicker Lane (2000 South Orchard Drive), Bountiful, Utah.  Viewings will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 North Bountiful, Utah and on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment  at Bountiful Cemetery.
