Rex Leroy Christensen passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016. Rex was born to Henry and Carrie (Bragg) Christensen on Dec. 13, 1922 in Basalt, Idaho, later moving to the Pocatello area. He served in the Air Force in New Caledonia during World War II, after which he served a mission to France. While majoring in history at BYU, Rex married Ina Marie McQuarrie in the St. George Temple on June 6, 1951. Rex was a Seminary/Institute teacher for CES for 35 years, teaching in Price, Cedar City, and Salt Lake. He dearly loved every student he taught. After retirement, Rex and Ina Marie served a mission in Rochester, New York. Rex served faithfully in numerous church callings, including as bishop and counselor in a Stake Presidency. He was also called as a Patriarch in the Bountiful South Stake, where he gave 950 blessings.
Rex and Ina have 4 children (Val, Kareen, Renee, and Rob), 19 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank those who tenderly cared for Rex in his last years, especially his grandson, Brenon, who was constantly by his side.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Bountiful 15th ward building, 1250 South Main Street. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10:00 AM at the 15th ward building, with a viewing an hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Beaver City Cemetery.
