After the war the family returned to Idaho Falls where he began a wholesale electronics parts/repair business named “Schwendiman’s”. In 1970 the business moved to Salt Lake City, UT, and was re-named “Intermountain Video Systems”. He was instrumental in helping the LDS Church utilize video tape to supplement and enhance teaching in all of it’s organizations, especially the CES programs.
Rex was active in civic and church organizations throughout his life. He served as chairman of the Idaho Falls School Board and was a member of Kiwanis. His church callings included bishop, high counselor, YM president, Primary teacher, temple worker, and faithful, dedicated home teacher.
