Richard (Dick) Edward Aegerter passed away peacefully at his home in Arlington, Virginia on October 28, 2014.
Dick was born June 15, 1923 in Montpelier, Idaho, the youngest child of Marie Kohler and Johann Friedrich Aegerter. He graduated from Ririe High School and received his bachelor’s degree from USU and graduated from the law school at George Washington University. He worked as an attorney for nearly 35 years at the U. S. Patent Office.
Dick married Joyce Parrish on July 6, 1973 in the Logan Temple. Joyce richly blessed Dick’s life and they accomplished many good things in their lives together, including genealogical work for his family back to the 1500s. Joyce passed away on April 27, 2003.
Dick was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith in the Savior provided great comfort and peace to him. Through the years, he served in many church callings. He worked in the Washington, D. C. Temple for nearly 40 years. He began serving as a sealer in 1986. He found great joy in his service there. He and Joyce also served a mission to the Chicago, Illinois Temple.
He is survived by his sisters, Vesta Bell and Esther Wenz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce along with his parents and his sisters Gertie, Mae, Hettie, and Margie and his brothers, LeRoy and John.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends and family may call two hours before the services.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dick’s nieces; Kim Parrish Auch, Kristin Parrish Corey, and Katie Parrish Ball and their families for their love and care of Dick, along with Rene’ and Jeff Johnson and their family and the wonderful members of the Arlington 1st and 2nd Wards for their friendship, goodness, and many kindnesses through the years.
