On April 22, 2023, while at home with his eternal companion, Richard Anderson, Andy to many of us, peacefully joined his family on the other side of the veil.
Dad was born on October 8, 1943, and grew up in Whittier, California, with his parents Preston and Adele Anderson, and his older brother Michael. Dad’s most fond memories from his youth came from boating with his family and working with his dad at Handy Andy’s (his father’s fix-it shop). It was at Handy Andy’s that Dad would get the nickname, “Little Andy,” his father being “Big Andy.”
Dad served a mission in the Canada Toronto Mission, making lifelong friends and meeting the love of his life and eternal companion, Judith Schooley. After completing his mission, Mom and Dad were married in Windsor, Ontario, and sealed in the Los Angeles Temple, in September 1966.
Dad will always be remembered as a hard worker, super intelligent, funny, and loving. He will also be remembered for his testimony of Jesus Christ, which he continued to increase and share until the end of his life. Dad loved serving in the church, his favorite calling was Gospel Doctrine teacher. Dad took time in every prayer to name and pray for his wife, children, in-laws, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Dad is survived by these same people who he prayed for so often, so fervently: Judy Anderson, Andrea (Anderson) and Keith Gold; Dave and Jenny, their children Maxwell, Grace, Jackson, and Stuart; Mike and Elise, their sons Russell, Jake, Erik and Jemma, their son Rocky; Matt and Christy, their children Nick, Sydney, James, and Drue; Danny and Traci, and their sons Buster and Charlie.
Dad was proceeded in death by his parents Preston and Adele Anderson, and his brother Michael Anderson.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 28th, at 11 AM. A viewing will precede the funeral from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM. Both the viewing and funeral will be held at the Steed Creek Chapel, 347 S 200 W, Farmington, UT 84025. Interment will follow the services at the Farmington Cemetery.
