Richard Kehoe Wayman
June 25, 1966. – December 7, 2020
Kehoe was born in Ogden, UT to Jeffery Wayman and Carol Squires on June
25, 1966.
He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1984. Upon graduation he left Utah
to work in Montana. This became his new home, purchasing an outfitting business
(Big Salmon Outfitters) in the Bob Marshall Wilderness in 1987. The South
Fork became his home in summers and the âBig Slideã until late fall. Many
countless memories were shared with his dearly loved sons, black mules, great
saddle horses, and beloved dogs, and cherished clients.
Kehoe enjoyed irrigating, raising horses, cattle, and hay. Unofficial horse races
(with plenty of gullies to jump) was his way to shorten the days. Ski trips in the
winter were a must!
In 2010, Kehoe made a trip to Salt Lake City to have dinner with his one and
only true love. Life instantly changed for the better. Kehoe and Paulette were
married June 2, 2012. Paulette showed Kehoe how to truly enjoy life and truly
love. They shared many special times, some great trips (NFR in Las Vegas,
Oahu and Kauai, Grand Cayman Island, San Diego, and George Strait in Texas),
triumphs and heartbreaks.
In 2014, taking his better half’s advice to slow down and enjoy life, Big Salmon
Outfitters and the Montana Ranch were put up for sale. A beautiful ranch
(Kehoe’s dream ranch) was purchased in Hyattville, WY. Paulette retired from
teaching and they were finally able to live under one roof year round.
He is preceded in death by his father and father-in-law, David (Linda) Christensen.
Survived by his mother; Carol, wife; Paulette, daughters; Ashley and Kirsten,
sons; Jeff, Woodrow, Bridger, and Jace, brothers; Rob, Rhett, and Dan, and 13
grandchildren who were his greatest joy.
His favorites; a saddle horse, Joker, a mule, Worm, and Karly, the best dog ever,
are moving cows and wandering the endless wilderness trails in Heaven.
Kehoe wrote his own obituary and requested no services. Cremation has taken
place and his and Karly’s ashes will be spread overlooking his back country
