On November 12, 2012, Richard Sorensen passed over at the age of 69 years of age due to complications of diabetes.
He was born December 27, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Oliver Richard Sorensen and Lucille Scott Sorensen. He served an LDS mission in Scotland. His passions were archaeology and music. He sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 8 years. He did graduate studies at the University of Utah in Archaeology, including archaeological excavations in Petra, Jordan.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Dibble Sorensen; 3 children: Kristen (Peter) Chamberlain, Jeremy Sorensen, and Scott (Jennifer) Sorensen; 8 grandchildren: Andrew, Summer, Spring, Audrey, Briant, Alexander, Lily and Kaitlyn; and his brother, Mark Sorensen. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gary Sorensen.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Rocky Mountain Care Center for their compassionate care.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West. A viewing will be held 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful prior to services. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
