Robert and Elaine Freestone

July 16, 2017 — July 19, 2017

Robert and Elaine would like you to know that they are taking a vacation. Robert received his call in the early morning hours of July 16 with an offer he couldn't refuse. An all inclusive fishing and hunting trip. Elaine, three days later on the 19 entered a dance competition to be near Robert.  Putting her best dance shoes on, she packed a picnic basket with snacks handing them out to hungry travelers on her way. Both will greet family and friends they have not seen in many years to include their son Michael. Undoubtedly there will be much to celebrate in reuniting these great people. Fortunately their vacation has some tremendous perks that will not allow for sore backs, aching knees, arthritis or asthma. Robert and Elaine were both raised in Ogden. Robert, by Allie and George Freestone with three siblings in a humble little home. Elaine, by Vivian and Jack Leavitt along with two brothers. Elaine was their princess. Robert went on to become drafted in the Navy at the tail end of WW2. Using the full potential of his spiffy GI Bill, he acquired his pharmaceutical license from Weber State. While in school Robert and Elaine crossed paths. The electric energy between them was so fierce, it started a small fire in a nearby bush. Elaine, with her beauty had managed to catch the eye of a few suitors. This started a fierce competition to win her over. Unthwarted, Robert saved his meager earnings to build a full battle suit fit for a knight and challenged all competitors to a sword fight to the death. To the dismay of his rivals, Robert prevailed to win her hand. This would blossom into what would be almost 70 years of life and love together. Elaine would take up skydiving and also became a pool shark at a local watering hole. Through their love and amazing life they created four boys. John, Mike, Rob and Steve. Robert and Elaine both lived a full and rewarding life. In lieu of flowers, They ask that you include the following items to your own "Bucket List".
Never Vote Hillary Clinton or her likeness. Proudly display an NRA sticker. Drink the occasional beer. Buy that QVC jewelry that you like. Fish more. Eat more ice cream. Be a proper person.  Teach someone something. They will be saving you a seat when your vacation time comes. No solicitors allowed.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful. A viewing will be held from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful.
