Robert Charles Weber was born on August 9, 1933 in West Bend, Wisconsin. He was raised by Clarence and Marsala Vogelsang in Forest Park, Illinois. Robert was baptized and raised a Roman Catholic. He graduated from Proviso East High School and joined the Navy on April 26, 1951. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on June 11, 1954. While in Korea, Robert practiced Judo. He continued his passion for martial arts and became a 3rd degree black belt.
In January of 1956, Robert met the love of his life, Rose Black. On June 16, 1956, they were married. They lived in Forest Park for many years and had three children, Robert, Cheri and Kathy. Robert retired from Rockwell International in 1998 and moved to North Salt Lake, Utah. They were members of Saint Olaf, and attended church every week. Five years ago, Rose was diagnosed with dementia, and Robert devoted every second to caring for her, even maintaining his military neat style.
Robert is survived by Rose Weber, Robert and Tammy Weber, Cheri and Groberg Lavulo, Nicole and Chris Cox, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Clarence and Marsala Vogelsang, and Kathy Stevens.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Saint Olaf Catholic Church, 276 East 1700 South, Bountiful, Utah.
