Robert Eldredge Moss

April 16, 1932 — September 30, 2017

Robert Eldredge Moss (aka Bob, Big Bad Bob, Bobby Baby, and Bah-Bah) passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the age of 85. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert and his sisters Jane Hatch Chambers and Barbara Hatch. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Cleo; his daughters Linda, Diane, and Julie; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and life-long friends.
Bob was born in 1932 and raised in Bountiful, where he lived for most of his life. After graduating from Davis High School, he attended Utah State University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi and the Army ROTC. It was at Utah State where he met and married Cleo, the love of his life. After graduating with a BA in business, he served as an Army Lieutenant in Germany. Following his discharge he settled in Bountiful and joined his father at the Woods Cross Canning Company where he worked as General Manager for over 40 years. Bob also started and ran several successful businesses as well.
Bob and his wife Cleo had a passion for world travel, and explored the world together, from the Great Wall of China to the rain forests of Ecuador. They also enjoyed spending time at their St. George condo and the family cabin in Midway.
Bob shared many fun times and adventures with his life-long friends and their families, including Ralph “Jake” Jacobson, Howard Wiscombe, Jerry Slatter, Dale Reeves, Lou Allen, Floyd Steed and many others.
Bob lived life in his own way and with great zest. He was a jazz aficionado, a loyal friend, a collector of corny jokes, a DIY handy man, conservationist, and family man extraordinaire. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids with the same enthusiasm as travel to a far-flung spot on the globe. His greatest joy and
highest priority was always his family. Bob leaves behind an 85-year legacy of laughter, generosity, humor, compassion, wisdom and unconditional love.
The family would like to thank CNS, Hospice and the VA Hospital for their wonderful care over the past seven years.
