Robert Evans

February 28, 1926 — December 12, 2011

Robert Cannon Evans 1926 – 2011 Bob passed away peacefully on Dec. 12, 2011 of Alzheimers disease. He is the son of David W. and Beatrice C. Evans. He graduated from East High School and served as a medic in the US Navy during World War II. Bob graduated from the U of U and married Marianne Sharp 61 years ago in the Salt Lake Temple. He started and ran Evans Supply for many years. Bob was a faithful member of the LDS Church, where he served for years in the Scouting and Young Mens programs, and was a recipient of the Silver Beaver. He loved and served his church, his family, and whoever needed a hand. His passions were squash (Utah State Champ in his younger years), gardening, his cabin, and fly fishing on his beloved Weber River. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and brother David C. Evans. He is survived by his wife Marianne, his five children, Julie (David) Seal, Paul (Gail), Mark (Clair), Carol Evans and Jim Evans, as well as 23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers Edmond (Gloria), Wayne (Vella), and Carl Evans. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 am, at the Garden Park Ward, where he spent countless hours of service beautifying and maintaining the grounds. There will be two viewings, one on Thursday evening, Dec. 15, 6-8 pm, and one from 9:30 10:30 am. prior to the funeral, both at the Garden Park Ward, 1150 E. Yale Ave, SLC.
