Robert T Holmes, a loving father, brother, and friend peacefully left this world on July 30, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.
Robert’s life began in Bountiful, where he was raised and developed a passion for playing the saxophone. After graduating from Bountiful High School, he served in a communications squadron of the Air National Guard.
Upon completion of a mission to Australia for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, He attended Weber College. Robert dedicated years of his life in service to Hill Air Force Base before retiring.
Throughout his life, Robert actively served in his community and church. He held various callings, including ward clerk, Cub Scout committee chair, and a member of the Elders Quorum council. Later in life, he embarked on a family history mission, cherishing the importance of preserving his ancestry.
Robert had a curious mind and pursued several hobbies, such as photography, chess, and computers. He found joy in capturing moments, engaging in strategic games, and exploring the digital world.
Robert is survived by his brother, Doug (Linda) Holmes, and five children: Brenda Holmes, Russ (Stefanie) Holmes, Stan (Jill) Holmes, Debbie Mitchell, and Steven Holmes.
He leaves behind a legacy through fifteen grandchildren: Adrian (Nona) Call, Kaylee Holmes, Megan Holmes, Brady Fulton, Malaki Fulton, Khloe Fulton, Ryan Holmes, Kyle Holmes, Mason Holmes, Mary Holmes, Seth Mitchell, Caleb Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell, Katie Holmes and Emily Holmes and three great-grandchildren: Marcus Call, Chase Call, and Lincoln Call.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas Howard Holmes and Elva Vivian Taylor, two siblings: Rodney Holmes and Marian (Lynn) Astle, and two grandchildren: Daxton Holmes and Sarah Holmes.
Robert’s family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Pheasant View Assisted Living, Apple Tree, Apple Village, and Rocky Mountain Care for the way they diligently helped us care for Robert.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, 11:00 am at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N Main Street, Farmington, Utah 84025. Prior to the services, a public viewing will be held from 10:00 - 10:30 am. Interment will take place at Kaysville Cemetery 500 E. Crestwood Dr. Kaysville, Utah 84037.
