Our Dad, Grandfather and friend passed away peacefully in Ogden, Utah on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 of causes incident to age.
He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of William Ludwig and Francis Neslen. He grew up in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah and worked with his father at his father's Tasty Made Bakery on 300 East 200 South when he was a young boy.
He married Nancy Robbins, Salt Lake City, Utah on October 27, 1949. They had 7 children – Jim, David, Robin, Brian, Jeff, Lisa and Eric. They divorced in 1970 and remained friends. In 1971 he married NanC Palmer. They had 2 children, Shontae and Michael. He and NanC divorced in 2010.
He worked as a salesman his entire life, often times working up to 3 jobs to support his family in his twenties. He worked for Mountain Bell for the majority of his adult life as a Yellow Page salesman. After the breakup of the Bell System, he worked as a salesman for other companies. In his more senior years he worked driving a school bus for handicapped children, helping them on and off the bus to school each day.
His passions in life were a good hamburger, riding his motorcycle, pets of all kinds and his family.
He is survived by his sons Jim (Ruth) and Jeff (Keena) and daughters Lisa Rasmussen (Mike) and Shontae Hill (Brent), sister Donna, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons David, Robin, Brian, Eric and Michael, brothers Bill and Gary, and sister Marilyn.
Friends and family can gather for a visitation at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, Utah from 1:00 – 1:45 PM on Monday, October 24, 2016. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on October 24, 2016 at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W., Bountiful, UT. Condolences may be shared at www.russonmortuary.com.
