Robert David Ogilvie was born December 26, 1927, Salt Lake City, Utah to William George & Ida Jorgensen Ogilvie. A 1945 graduate of West High School and 1956 graduate of the University of Utah as a Mechanical Engineer. He served in the US Army in WWII. Also served a Hawaiin LDS mission 1949 – 1951. Married Elizabeth Marie Schmidt, June 20, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Retired from Kennecott Copper in 1980.
We will miss his smile and the twinkle in his eye.
Survived by his wife, Elizabeth; 3 children: Jill (Rex) Christensen, Bret Robert, and Pamela (Bob) Myers; 2 sisters, Eileen & Donna; 3 brothers: Ferral, Glen & Richard; 1 foster sister, Barbara Drabner; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and 1 Indian placement daughter, Bertha Begay. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 children: Ann Marie, Sheri Kay, and Terry David; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Mueller Park 2nd Ward, 1800 South 850 East, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday morning 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
