Robert Kay Passey (94), beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and great Grandfather passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022. Robert was born in Oneida Station, Franklin County, Idaho on October 21, 1928 to George Iland and Pearl Evangeline Wallentine Passey. He married Loraine Beesley on September 16, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Robert was baptized in the Logan Temple on May 8th, 1937. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Central States Mission from 1949-1951. He was a faithful, active member of the Church throughout his life and served in many callings including many years as a Ward Choir director, Ward Chorister, Ward/Stake Clerk and Explorer Leader in Scouts. One of his most important callings was that of a Home Teacher which he did faithfully until his health no longer allowed him to get out. His love of the Savior was evident in everything he did and the things he taught.
He played the trumpet and the harmonica and had a beautiful tenor voice. He sang with the Swanee Singers for many years and loved singing in his ward’s choir.
He loved building model cars and airplanes and could often be found tinkering on them down in the basement.
He always lovingly referred to his wife, Loraine, as “The Boss Lady” and it was obvious to all how much he loved and respected her. They were married for 67 years.
Robert was a veteran of the Armed Services, having served in the Army from May of 1951 to December of 1952 as a Personnel Clerk.
He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked at Hill Air Force Base in Layton for 40 years.
