Salt Lake City, UT-Our beloved husband, father and grandfather died at his home in Holladay, November 19, 2013. He was born in Salt Lake City, March 13, 1938, to Audrin Wilhelmsen and Milton Pexton.
Bob attended the University of Utah and affiliated with the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was named to Skull & Bones, Owl & Key and Beehive honor societies. He served an LDS mission in Australia. He was an honor graduate from the US Army Infantry School, served as special agent in the Intelligence Corps.
Bob married Patricia DeBry, August 16, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their four children in New Orleans, Salt Lake, Chicago, New Jersey, Connecticut and Bountiful. After the death of his wife, Bob married Dorothy (Dot) Parrish Maxfield, October 28, 1998.
Bob earned several honors during his career in advertising working in Chicago and Manhattan before moving back to Utah in 1977 to be close to family. Bob and Pat owned and operated DeBry-Pexton, Inc., for over ten years, bringing new innovations to the giftware industry. After many years traveling across country to gift shows, Bob returned to public relations working at Novell and Intermountain Healthcare.
Bob was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He traveled extensively visiting every state, many countries and nearly every continent. He had hoped to complete an around the world cruise. Bob loved singing. He performed in the Utah Opera chorus for 14 seasons. After retirement, he joined the Southern Utah Heritage choir allowing him to perform in China. Above all, Bob loved his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dot and four children: Samantha Pexton, Ogden, UT; Allison Summers, North Salt Lake, UT; Jonathan (Laura) Pexton, Cottonwood Heights, UT; Jamison (Kristina) Pexton, Centerville, UT. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia DeBry. Bob delighted in his twelve grandchildren: Tyler, Tiffany, Mackenzie, Keaton, Preston, Jack, Sydney, Grace, Oliver, Abigail, Felix and Miles and his great-grandaughter Isabella.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11 am at the Olympus Hills Ward LDS Chapel, 4176 Adonis Dr., Holladay 84109. Friends may call at the church Friday from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday from 10 to 10:40 am. Burial-Bountiful City Cemetery.
A lunch will be held at the church after returning from the graveside service. Please RSVP to jpexton@hotmail.com if you will attend the lunch. We are trying to plan for the proper amount of food.
