Robert "Poppa" Jones

Biography

Passed away unexpectedly in his home, Saturday, October 26, 2013. Robert “Poppa” Jones was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, January 10, 1944 to John Carlyle Jones and Edna Chase Jones. He married his best friend Patricia Ann Reed, February 6, 1965 and they were sealed in the LDS Temple May 8, 1980.
He served in the United States Navy for four years. He worked as a machinist/welder for over 30 years. His passions were hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and anything outdoors. He never missed any of his kids’ sporting events. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, especially watching the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL football games.
He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all. He was a “father” to so many.
He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, brother in law, uncle and over all wonderful friend to everyone.
He leaves behind his wife, Pat; children: Mike (Maren), Jeremy (Holly), and Chelsee (Kevin); seven grandchildren: Kara, Mason, Lexi, Kayla, Ashlynn, Kayden and Kyler; siblings: Judy and Margaret. He was preceded in death by parents, brother, Glenn and sister, Debbie.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Woods Cross Stake Center, 2064 South 800 West, where a viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and Saturday morning 1 hr prior to services.
