Robert Scott London

Robert Scott London can best be described by three simple yet fulfilling phrases: selfless friend, loving grandfather, and dedicated dad. It is those who know him in these capacities that truly know the fullness of the man we so respectfully call Robo, Daddy, Grandpa, and Scott. The simplicity and humbleness of his magnificent heart and cherished soul make all who are blessed to have him in their lives not only believe in the goodness of Heavenly Father and the world we live in but also know without a doubt how powerful the acts of charity and compassion and true love are for those who have been touched by his skilled hands and soft voice. Our father, grandfather, and friend completed his mortal journey on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the young age of 65 years and took a step to a higher plain where he can better care for and watch over his present and future family during his next mission.

Robo is exemplary in word, action, and deed of what a dedicated and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints should be. To define him merely as a faithful man of God is probably what his humble heart would desire; however, it limits the impact and influence he has on his family and acquaintances. He has never been attracted to fancy titles or items of luxury. His drive in this life and that to come is to love through serving others. Robo has a brilliant mind and has the uncanny ability to develop and implement solutions to problems that are deemed impossible by others. Whether it be through complex mechanical feats or simple gestures, he amazes all those who cross his path. Many are the homes that have received physical representations of his remarkable carpentry skills each holiday season. Each gift is a heartfelt effort to share his God-given talents with those who touched his life most. A piece or his soul is etched in each wooden masterpiece.

Grandpa Robo loved his grandkids so purely and unconditionally. Nichael’s path to being the Real Salt Lake super fan that he is today began when his grandpa wore a RSL hat on the day he was born. Robo still claims that the hat was made for him with his initials on it and not for the team. Nichael adored his Grandpa and ran to his room first thing every time he returned home, announcing his arrival with “Grandpa, I’m home” and sharing his unconditional love each time he left with the  simple and elegant declaration, “I love you Grandpa. See you later.” Khloe inherited her grandpa’s mechanical mind and passion to design and build. Countless hours were spent in his shop piecing together scrap materials into her own wooden spectacles. She found comfort and solace on Grandpa’s bedroom love seat sharing in his daily repeat viewings of NCIS. Henry always looked forward to going to his Sunday visits to Grandpa’s house. His vivacious energy lifted Robo’s spirits and brought out his youthful smirk and playful nature. Henry helped break down the rough outer shell and forever removed the “off limit” sign from Robo’s personal toy collection.

Robo, Dad, Daddy lives in his fullness through the lives of his children. Always has; always will. Though Tim, CJ, and Natalie are all unique in their own thoughts, beliefs, skills, and accomplishments, they all possess key components of the man that served as a rock in difficult times, a comforting and loving voice for any occasion or circumstance, and a beacon of hope, compassion, charity, service, unconditional love, simplicity, hard work, dedication, commitment, and the desire to always put others ahead of himself. Robo is his children – he would say that they are his greatest pride and joy and what made up his life. He lives on through them; they are his legacy. Tim, CJ, and Chicky are humbled and blessed to be his children. Together they make up the most beautiful parts of their father and together they will carry on his posterity and continue his spirit of service for each other and others through the words and actions he will forever plant in their hearts.

Robo gave the best hugs! His loving embrace will be sorrowfully missed and joyfully cherished by everyone who was ever swallowed up by his affectionate arms.

Robo is survived by his three loving children: Timothy Scott London, Clayton J London (Christina), and Natalie Brooke Himstreet (Chris); his three adoring grandchildren: Nichael, Khloe, and Henry; siblings Lynn London, Terry London, Jon London(Sheri), Debbie Child (Jim), and Shane London (Robyne); as well as many loving cousins, nephews and nieces and their families all who are blessed to have him in their lives. He was preceded in completing this mortal journey by his parents Delbert Toone London and Barbara Crouch London, older brother Larry London (Lynn), and sister-in-law Jeanine London (Terry). There is no doubt that they are all together sharing tears of happiness for their reunion and standing arm-in-arm to support him as he mourns for our tears of loss and remembrance and to assist him in serving those affected by his passing.

While he was taken far too soon from this mortal life, there is no doubt that he remains with his family, friends, and other beloved people in spirit watching over us in this difficult time and throughout the rest of our lives.

A viewing will be held in Robo’s honor on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary located at 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah 84025. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Farmington North Stake Center located at 729 West Shepard Lane, Farmington, Utah 84025, preceded by a public viewing from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the same location.
