Robert Scott Storey

January 11, 1956 — May 16, 2021

Robert Scott Storey, 65, passed away on May 16, 2021.

Scott was born in Ogden, Utah to Robert Storey and Dixie Storey on January 11, 1956.  He attended Roy High School before working in many areas of construction for most of his life.

He married Jody Haddon on June 29, 1984, in Ogden, UT. They built their first home in Roy, UT where they raised their three children. They were married for 13 years, later divorced, but remained close friends and shared many memories together throughout the years.

Scott enjoyed many hobbies including hiking, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, and most of all playing his guitar. When he was younger, he played in a band and wrote his own lyrics. He had a love for music and could always be heard playing his guitar whenever he had the chance.

Scott was a craftsman and could build or repair almost anything. His creativity and workmanship were on display throughout his life. He built custom furniture in his home, restored vintage snowmobiles and designed Christmas themed birdhouses each with unique miniature holiday scenes inside. He had an eye for landscaping and had the best-looking yard on the street. He spent hours working on Christmas light displays for the house, so much that passing cars would stop to admire his work.

As a licensed contractor, he worked on countless projects over the years. He worked with Colonial Building Supply for over a decade where he leaves behind many friends and colleagues.

Scott loved his family and always made everyone laugh with his jokes; he was the life of the party. He also found joy in making others happy through his many acts of kindness. Scott spoiled his grandchildren and cherished every moment he had with them.

Scott is survived by his mother Dixie “Moon” Storey of Roy, UT; his stepmother Jill Storey of Ogden, UT; his siblings Taunya Williamson (Jeff) of Ogden, UT; Tod Storey (Jennifer) of Riverton, UT; Chad Craner (Susan), Leesburg, VA; Kimberly Chournos (Lanse), St. George, UT; by his children Cody Storey (Cheryl) of Millcreek, UT; Ashley LeClaire (Skyler) of Syracuse, UT; Paige Storey (Lucas) of Riverdale. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Peyton, Presley, Izik and Izabella, along with his many nieces and nephews.

Scott is preceded in death by his father Robert and niece Gretchen.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at Russon Mortuary, 1585 W 300 S Syracuse, UT 84075 on Wednesday, May 26th from 12 to 2 p.m.
