“Hello Sunshine”
Our sweet Husband and Dad, Robert Noal Wallace, passed away on September 6, 2013 at the age of 80. Dad was born on January 19, 1933 in Taylorsville, Utah to Afton Paxton Wallace and Noal Holder Wallace. He attended Granite High School and then served our country in Korea, where he was critically wounded and miraculously saved from bleeding to death by his Book of Mormon (see lds.org and search “I Was Saved By the Book”, New Era, February 1976). Dad firmly believed he was preserved for a reason and shared his story for many years with multiple congregations and individuals. After his years in the Army, he met his eternal sweetheart, Eileen Patey, and knew the day he met her that she would one day be his bride. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 24, 1955. To that marriage eventually came two daughters, Joy and Juleen. Dad was a metallurgist by trade and was one of the most well known and sought after heat-treaters in the country. He loved all sports and the outdoors. He loved to fish and camp, but mostly he loved to spend time with his family. He loved the Gospel and shared it whenever he could. He served faithfully in many callings throughout his life; whether it was in men’s sports as a coach, ref, ump, or organizing the All-Church tournaments or serving in many areas of the Sunday school or as a Home Teacher. He loved his Savior, Jesus Christ and tried to be like Him. He is survived by his wife, Eileen, daughters: Joy (John) Best and Juleen (Eric) Bell, and grandchildren: Robert, Jeffrey and Adam (Amanda) Best and Jason (Allison), Brianne, Rachel, and Sarah Bell and sister: Maurine (Wally) Karren.
