On the night of January 12 Roger passed on unexpectedly in surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. Roger was 76 years old.
Roger was born on September 16, 1945 to parents Ray and Ines Fadness of Lisbon, NorthDakota. Roger’s childhood was spent on the family farm in Lisbon, with twin brother Richard and sister Nancy. After three tours actively deployed with the United States Marines in Vietnam, Roger would return home to attend the University of North Dakota. At UND he would meet his future wife Joan Lyngstad of Rugby, North Dakota. Married in June of 1971 Roger and Joan would raise three sons, Aaron, Eric and Mark. Roger worked as an executive for multiple manufacturing companies and family would spend the ‘70s and ‘80s moving throughout the Midwest as new work opportunities arose, finally settling in Salt Lake City in 1990. Retirement would see Roger spending the majority his time with his 5 grandchildren as well as volunteering at Cottonwood Presbyterian Church. His grandchildren were most special to him, followed closely by his friendships made in jobs past and the fellowship of the parishioners of Cottonwood.
Roger is preceded in death by parents Ray and Ines and brother Richard. Survived by sister Nancy, wife Joan, sons Aaron (Misty), Eric (Andi) & Mark (Feather-deceased). Grandchildren: Colin, Dylan & Alexia (Aaron & Misty), Gabriella (Eric & Andi), and Addison (Mark).
