Roger was born to Roger and Juanita Brown on October 24, 1951. He arrived on a Wednesday morning at 4:00 AM in Santa Maria, California. Virginia was first, Roger second, and a few years later Karla was born and lastly Wade.
Growing up he learned firsthand the value of hard work. In middle school he would help his dad on the job sites. He loved cars and had a 1966 GTO in high school.
After completing his senior year of high school, he worked at Hearst Castle, he owned his own building construction company, became a Psychiatric Technician where he worked at Atascadero State Hospital with the criminally insane in maximum security. He then began driving as a long-haul flatbed truck driver. He retired in 2019 because of his health.
Roger rode in the 5th Chapter Clean and Sober Motorcycle Club. He celebrated 36 years of sobriety.
Roger was blessed with two children, Travis and Tori. He struggled as a father and realized when they were grown the mistakes he made. He had hopes they will forgive him.
Roger loved sports, motorcycles, and the great outdoors. He played football, basketball and was the catcher on a fast pitch baseball championship team. He also loved fishing, hunting, skiing (water and snow), boating, motorcycles and lastly sky diving.
Roger married Sharon in 1991 and lost her to cancer in August 2006. He met Ginna and they married in June of 2007 and were together until his passing.
Roger left this world on March 19, 2022. He was 70- years old and needed to be free of pain.
God saw he was getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So, he put His arms around him
and whispered, “Come with Me”.
With tearful eyes we watched him suffer
and saw him fade away
Although we loved him dearly
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Roger leaves behind his wife Ginna, his children: Tori (Brandon), Andrea (John), Devin (Jami); grandchildren: Justin, Dylan, Tyler, Makenna, Ethan and Lily (who shares his birthday); mother Juanita; sisters: Ginger and Karla and brother Wade (Karen).
He is preceded in death by his son Travis, father Roger and wife Sharon.
