Roger Royal Winslow was born February 10, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA. He died October 27, 2015 at the University of Utah Medical Center. Roger was the oldest son of Richard Maynard and Ruth Margaret Winslow. He grew up in Los Angeles, CA and attended the University of Southern California and Brigham Young University. Roger married Judith Hart on March 31, 1956 in Salt Lake City, UT. A year later they were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on March 29, 1957. He retired from WR White as a construction project manager. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America as both a youth and as an adult and was awarded the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver awards. After he retired, he enjoyed working for the Utah State Senate as security. Roger was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Scouting, High Counselor and Bishop. His greatest joy was his family.
He is survived by a brother Jack Wayne Winslow, a brother Dean Winslow, and a sister Beverly Lamb; 6 children, Doug (Nancy) Winslow, Dave (Shaleen) Winslow, Dean (Leslie) Winslow, Dorothy (Scott) McIlrath, Patti (Paul) Richins, Hal Winslow; 33 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Judith Hart Winslow. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the University of Utah Medical Center for their kind, professional and compassionate care of Roger.
A viewing will be held on Friday October 30, 2015 from 6-8pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Kaysville 7th Ward building, 331 South 50 West, Kaysville, UT. A viewing will be held from 9:45 – 10:45am before the service. Interment- Kaysville City Cemetery.
