Layton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roland Darrell Goodrich, a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Roland peacefully passed away on January 11, 2025, in Layton, Utah, surrounded by his devoted wife, Teresa, two of his daughters, and his son-in-law. He was 61 years old.

Born on August 9, 1963, Roland’s life was a testament to creativity, hard work, and love. Roland had a deep love for learning about gospel truths and had an intense love for the Lord.  A man of extraordinary talent and imagination, he had a passion for woodworking, paddle boarding, boating, and camping. He found immense joy in the outdoors and in creating beauty with his hands, leaving behind cherished pieces that will be treasured by his family for generations.

Roland was a devoted family man whose love knew no bounds. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa, who was his steadfast companion and source of strength. Together, they raised a beautiful family of four daughters and one son, each of whom brought him immense pride. He welcomed his sons-in-law and daughter-in-law into the family with open arms and a heart full of warmth. His 13 grandchildren—nine grandsons and four granddaughters—were his greatest source of happiness. He adored spending time with them, sharing his wisdom, and nurturing their creativity and love for life.

Roland lived a life full of purpose and connection, always willing to lend a hand or a kind word to those in need. His creativity extended beyond his hobbies and into the way he approached life—bringing people together, solving problems with ingenuity, and finding joy in life’s simplest moments. His infectious optimism and unwavering kindness left a lasting mark on everyone he met.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Roland passed away, leaving a profound void in the lives of those who loved him.

Roland, your light, love, and creativity will live on in the hearts of those who cherished you. Rest in peace, knowing you made the world a better place.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to help with his medical expenses at Teresa’s Venmo account: @Teresa-Goodrich-7. Your love and support mean the world to them during this difficult time.
