Roleane Berrett Crockett

August 5, 1949 — October 13, 2024

Roleane was born to Roland M. Berrett and EvaDeane Tippetts Berrett on August 5, 1949 and was raised in North Ogden, UT with her older brother Ronald and younger siblings Collette and Matthew. She gained two bonus brothers; Robb and Rand, and a “Pop” when EvaDeane later remarried. She took her role as eldest sister seriously and watched over them protectively all her life.

Neane spent her childhood among a large contingent of cousins and enjoyed close relationships with many of them well into adulthood. She genuinely enjoyed her cousin luncheons.

After graduating from Weber High School she married Brad Lee Swaner and they welcomed two daughters. Lora (Greg) Flitton, and Marie (Daniel) Hall, later divorced. She married her eternal companion Dale S. Crockett on October 11, 1980 and together with his children Shondell (Frank) Photiadis, Taber (Kara) Crockett, Tyson (Jen) Crockett, and Shikay (Kevin) Loveridge; her family became complete.

Roleane loved her family and her greatest priority was taking care of them. She was the most giving and selfless person we have ever known. While she had a career outside of the home working for the FAA, she willingly and joyfully entered an early retirement to help care for her grandchildren as they came along. Those moments of music, arts and crafts, and pure love are closely cherished memories for all of us.

As time went on, Roleane found a new passion in her support of Dale in the Army National Guard and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a dedicated volunteer as a Unit Readiness Leader for the 115th Maintenance Co., 115th EN Gp. She received many Certificates of Appreciation, The Commanders Award for Public Service, and one she was most proud of; being nominated for an award of Keeper of the Flame. She was also elected Chaplain for the Auxiliary Unit and served many in her role.

She served her neighbors as a Relief Society President, Primary President, Stake Young Women counselor, and her favorite calling as a Primary teacher. Many will be waiting on the other side to wrap their arms around her for the work she did for them.

With family, church callings, the American Legion, and other opportunities in the neighborhood and community Neane kept busy serving others. It gave her great joy and comfort to know that she was feeding someone a meal, watching a baby, or doing any little act of service she could think of.

When she took a few moments for herself; Mom loved to work on family history, read, play piano, and sing. Her beautiful singing voice endured through the challenges she faced in the last years of her life and she was singing You Are My Sunshine and Happy Trails with her voice right on key with us just last week.

We would like to thank the staff and nurses at Abbington Memory Care and Inspiration Hospice Care that gave our Mom and all of us so much kindness and compassion over the last few months.

Roleane is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ron and Rand, great-granddaughter Zoey, and her niece Ehren. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, surviving siblings, and her beloved extended family full of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. We love you more.
