&qoute;And they shall rise up and call her blessed&qoute; Proverbs 31:28 Roma Simmons Christensen Butterfield was born December 4, 1920 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Isaac and Regina Christensen. She was the 7th of 8 children. She graduated from Provo High School as the valedictorian of her class and attended BYU. She married Gustave Rex Butterfield in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 16, 1942. She was very active in the LDS Church where she served in many capacities. She worked as a Secretary for the Davis School District for many years. She served a Family History mission to Schaumberg, Illinois. She served as a guide on Temple Square and as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples. Gustave Rex and Roma had 5 children: Rex Kirk, Kent Gustave, Karla, Kerlyn & Kristen. They have 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Isaac and Regina Christensen, her husband, Gustave Rex, all her brothers and sisters, and a grandson, Todd Butterfield Ray. She is survived by her children: Rex Kirk Donna Butterfield, Kent Gustave Brenda Butterfield, Karla Gary Little, Kerlyn Ure, Kristen Douglas Hirschi. Special thanks to the Gardens Assisted Living, Applegate Hospice and the special angels who cared for her with so much love. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Centerville Stake Center, 950 North Main. A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Monday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Herriman City Cemetery.
