Romaine Moss

December 18, 1920 — December 2, 2013

Romaine Smith Moss passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 2, 2013. Romaine was born on December 18, 1920, to Olivia Annette Myers and Leland R. Smith. She married L. DeVan Moss on March 3, 1939, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were happily married for 73 years. Most of her life was spent in the Bountiful area except for the years from 1961 to 1965 when the family moved to Albany, Georgia, where Van managed the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints cattle and farming operations. During that time Romaine served in the Regional Relief Society Presidency. She also served faithfully in many other Church callings. She enjoyed going to their cabin in Wyoming. She was an avid reader, excellent seamstress, skilled in knitting and other handwork in addition to being a fabulous cook and homemaker. Everyone was always welcome within the walls of her home. Romaine treasured her family. One of the last things she said was how lucky she was to have such a wonderful family. Besides her husband and parents, Romaine was preceded in death by her two sisters, Marion and Janet and her infant daughter, Andrena. She is survived by her daughters Karen (Jan Price), Cynthia (Denis Hopkinson), Amy (Brad Dobson); son Russell Moss (Connie), 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a viewing will be held 11:30-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
