Ronald Asa Williamson

September 2, 1947 — January 1, 2016

Ronald Asa Williamson, age 68 passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016. Ronald was born on September 2, 1947 in Wilson, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Luther Earl and Martha Jane Williamson. Ronald was a Veteran of the  United States Marine Corps. serving two tours in the Vietnam War.

Ron is survived by his wife, Janice Thompson Williamson of 26 years; daughter, Crystal (Stewart) Phillips,  step-daughters, Angela Joyner, Lori Brown, Stacie (Don) Gansen, Angie (Eric) Banford; stepsons, Gregory Joyner and Rico Archuleta; grandchildren: Summer,Tyler, of North Carolina,  Alexandria  (John), Jim, Caitlin, Carson, Cayden, Carleigh, Colter, Jamey (Stephanie), Desiree, Amber (Casey), Kari (Joe), Eric jr., Zach, Daxton (Marissa). Ron and Janice have and are still taking great care and providing for Ophelia and RJ, their great-grandchildren, Gracie, Lillie, Gene, Haylee, Dylan,Trey, Taylor, Addee, Ellie, McKenna, Starla, Emma, Alex, Roam. Sisters Peggy Williamson Davis, Sylvia Williamson, Annette Williamson Sutton, Robin Williamson Hayes, and Kim Williamson Prince, Brothers Jimmy Williamson, Donnie (Ron's twin), William Williamson, and Timmy Williamson; numerous nieces and nephews  whom Ron loved and Adored. Ron loved and cherished everyone around him. He is preceded in death by his parents; his step brother, Luther  Earl "Jack" Williamson.

Special thanks to Gwen, Janet,  Dana, Tiffany, and Kathy from the VA  and the daycare (Country Niche) Ron attended twice a week, and all who helped care for him at the VA hospital, SICU at the VA. Also, a big thank you to the Woods Cross LDS Stake Center for all their support and offerings.

A memorial service for Ron will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woods Cross LDS Stake Center, 2064 South 800 West, Woods Cross, Utah, where family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Graveside services will be held at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, located at 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah on Friday afternoon following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Ron’s Memorial Fund through  Mountain American Credit Union-(Routing # 324079555 account # 25478).
