Ronald John Ruskauff

June 11, 1936 — May 28, 2018

Ron Ruskauff passed away in his Farmington home on Memorial Day morning, May 28, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born in Denver, Colorado to Joe and Beryl Ruskauff.
Early in Ron's life, his father was transferred from Denver to Soldier Summit, Utah while working for the railroad. After a few years in Soldier Summit "Rusty", his mother Beryl and his sister Donna moved to Dragerton – now East Carbon, Utah. While growing up in small town Dragerton he made several life-long friends. He learned to work hard and help support his sister and mom. After serving for a short time in the U.S. Army, Ron continued to work hard and move around. Life in his 20's included working in the coal mines of Eastern Utah, a ski season or two in Aspen, a hot summer working on Charlie Steen's private drive in Moab and various jobs in Men's clothing and shoe stores in Salt Lake City and Ogden. Ron met his future wife Joyce at a card store in Ogden.
Ron and Joyce were married on April 17, 1965 in Ogden and sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 13, 2015. During their 53 years of marriage they had three children: John, Cathie and Jason. Ron and Joyce also became second parents to many of their children's friends. He worked as an Electronics Technician at Hill Air Force Base for 32 years. After retiring from Hill Field, Ron enjoyed delivering meals to senior citizens for the Weber County Meals on Wheels program. He enjoyed fishing, camping, a good card game and spending time with his neighbors, friends, family and grandchildren – always keeping them laughing with his subtle and dry sense of humor.
Ron is survived by his wife Joyce, children John (Bonnie), Cathie (Scott) and Jason; grandchildren Garrett, Tori, Aidan, Olivia and Amber; sister Donna Ruskauff Pero of Tampa Florida. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Joe and mother Beryl/Grammy.
Funeral services will be held Monday June 4, at 11:00 a.m. at the Farmington North Stake Center, 729 Shepard Lane, followed by an interment at the Farmington City Cemetery.
