Ronald Mananquil, the youngest of six children, was born on November 20, 1969, to Ruben and Gloria Cho Mananquil. He passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on March 2, 2025, at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, surrounded by his loving family, just days after undergoing surgery for an aortic dissection.
Ronald is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Melinda Mananquil, and children: April, Angela, and Jaden. He is also survived by his brothers, Glicito, Rizaldy, Robert, Reggie, and Raul, along with his cherished nieces and nephews: John, Michael, Mariza, Kyle, Nicolette, Anthony, Krista, Joshua, and Jessica.
In 1996, Ronald met the love of his life, Melinda, in Niceville, Florida, and they married in 1998. Their journey together took them to England and Japan, where their daughters, April and Angela, were born, before they returned to the United States and settled in Lincoln, California. Ronald was a proud veteran, he served his beloved country for nearly 24 years in the United States Air Force.
The family later relocated to Syracuse, Utah, in the summer of 2015. Ronald worked for Lockheed Martin at Hill Air Force Base while attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity Management and Policy. In recent years, he served as a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman.
Above all, Ronald was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy in life was taking care of his family, both emotionally and financially. He made it a point to call Melinda every day while at work, always expressing his love and devotion. Despite his busy schedule, he never missed a performance by his daughter Angela. For his daughter April, who is in medical school, he always encouraged her with the words, “Today is a good day,” and “You are smarter when you’re pink” before her big exams. His family were his pride and joy. Ronald’s selflessness, kindness, patience, humor, and strength were evident in everything he did. He was a loving father and husband, always present and supportive for his family.
Though spending time with his family was his greatest passion, Ronald also loved cooking, traveling, and fishing. He had a generous, kind heart and was deeply loved by all who knew him. A man of faith, he made a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Ronald’s love will remain in our hearts forever. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will live on, cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
