Bountiful, UTAH – Ronald Ernest Marrelli, 65 passed away on April 12, 2013.
He was born October 1, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ernest and Muriel Jones Marrelli. He attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School in 1966, where he was active in sports.
He attended Brigham Young University prior to serving a mission to France from 1967-1970. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and following graduation began working for Phillips 66 Refinery in Woods Cross Utah. At the time of his death he was employed at HollyFrontier Woods Cross Refinery.
On September 21, 1973, he married Linda Nestman in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two children, Natalie (Brian) Call and Ryan (Holly) Marrelli. They have 7 beautiful grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Family was everything to him. He spent time taking care of extended family members and always made time to attend all of his grandchildrens’ games and performances.
Ron had a fun, dry sense of humor and always saw the best in people. He enjoyed golfing and traveling with his family.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including Young Men’s Leader, Counselor in the Bishopric, Ward Mission Leader, Sunday School Instructor, Stake High Counselor and Bishop.
He is survived by his wife, son and daughter, son-in-law and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, father, siblings Robyn Marrelli and Roger Marrelli, and nieces and nephews. His mother, twin brother Rodney, sister-in-law Nancy and brother-in-law Paul preceded him in death.
The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the nurses, doctors, therapists and techs at IMC Shock Trauma Unit for their concern and tireless compassionate care.
Friends and family may call at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the North Canyon 5th Ward, 2505 S. Davis Blvd, Bountiful. Friends and family may visit prior to the services from 10:45 – 11:45 a.m.
An interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the L.D.S. General Missionary Fund or Polycystic Kidney Foundation.
