Rose Cavato

December 22, 1925 — October 28, 2014

Rose Cavato, our beloved “Grandma Rose”, passed away on Oct. 28, 2014 at the age of 88 in Salt Lake City, UT after a brief illness. Rose was born in Chicago, IL on Dec. 22, 1925 to Menzione Valco and Josephine Ringo Valco, both now deceased. She was the youngest and last surviving of 5 children. In 1946 Rose married her childhood sweetheart, Frank (Toddy) Cavato. Rose and Frank enjoyed 63 wonderful years of marriage together travelling, playing golf, making raviolis and celebrating life until his death in 2007. They had two children, son Don and daughter Veronica (Ronnie) and two grandchildren, Tristan Cavato and Garrett Barry (deceased). She graduated from Fenger High School class of 1944 in Chicago. Rose was retired from Republic Steel Corp. She resided in Munster, IN from 1972 until 2009 when she moved to Los Angeles, CA. In 2014 she moved to Salt Lake City, UT to reside with her daughter. Rose is survived by her son Don Cavato, daughter Veronica Barry, son-in-law Marvin Corne, grandson Tristan Cavato, his wife Patricia, their three beautiful daughters Laela, Melody and Scarlette, brother-in-law Joseph Cavato, sisters-in- law Verna Cavato and Wanda Cavato as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held in Salt Lake City and Los Angeles at later dates to be announced
