Rose Isbell

June 29, 1913 — February 19, 2011

Rose Kierstead Isbell passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Lifecare Center of Bountiful where she had been a resident for many years. She was born June 29, 1913 in Tropic, Utah to Hazel Jolley and Morris Kierstead. She married James (Lin) Isbell on September 12, 1933 in the Manti LDS Temple. Rose and her family resided in Richfield, Utah where they owned a farm and store. They later moved to Salt Lake City. After attaining her nursing degree she worked at LDS Hospital, and she and Lin operated their own care center. Rose loved to write stories and poetry and was very proud to have been chosen to attend, and win the Mrs. Goldenyears Pageant title in 2000. Rose loved to visit with her dear friends Jackie and Verna and other family members. She enjoyed attending Relief Society, playing Bingo and following sports news with her grandson, Richard Christensen. Rose is survived by her son, Donald Isbell of Texas. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Lin); daughter, Marilyn Olson; son-in-law, Reid; daughter-in-law, Isabel; brothers, William, Mark and Leo; and great-grandson, Brandon Steele. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Lifecare Center for their loving care of Rose. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful.
