Rose Eileen Wendel passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2010. Eileen was born January 25, 1914 in West Seattle to Ambrose and Lucy Chabot. She was sealed to Fred Schumann in 1942. He was killed fighting in the Philippines during World War II. She married Allen Martin Wendel on November 24, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Bountiful, Utah, where they raised 6 children. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, faithfully served in the Northern States mission and held many callings. Faith in Jesus Christ and belief in His Plan of Happiness is the hallmark of her life. She loved the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon and spent many painstaking hours creating an illustrated version of this holy book. She enjoyed creating things and used multiple mediums including drawing, painting and sculpture. Many looked forward to her annual hand drawn Christmas cards. She loved roses, dolls and wearing red lipstick. Eileen is survived by her husband Allen and their six children, Jim, Doug Sylvia, Nancy Bruce McMonagle, Richard Rachelle, Gary Kathy and Joel Annette, 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 26, 2010 at 1pm at the Bountiful Central Stake Center, 640 South 750 East, Bountiful, where viewings will be held Sunday evening from 6:00-7:30 pm and Monday 11:45 am – 12:45 pm prior to services.. Interment- Lakeview Memorial Cemetery.
